Contador Prepping High in Argentina
Alberto Contador is reportedly prepping in full pace for his upcoming Tour de San Luis in Argentina. The high profile cycle race is scheduled to kick off from January 21 to 26 this year.
The eminent cyclist & his 5 teammates Niki Sorensen, Jesus Hernandez, Bruno Pires, Sergio Paulinho and Benjamin Noval have already reached to Argentina three days back and tried out their 1st training session in summer heat.
While approached on their preparation for the soon to start Tour de San Luis, Contador revealed that this time they planned to arrive early to have ample time for an extensive training session. He seemed glad about the positive atmosphere prevailing in his team and is hopeful for prospective results in races. “We are eyeing on good prep in upcoming months”, added in Contador.
As per the sources, the 2013 Tour de San Luis is much more relaxing for Contador than the previous season in 2012 when Contador was facing a ban on the ground of doping allegations stemming from the cyclist’s Tour de France 2010 positive charges that was extended till 2012 August.
On further inquiry about his Tour de San Luis preparations, Contador emphasized that he is satisfied and content the way he and his teammates are preparing lately. “Our training data seems to be good & currently I am focusing on honing my weight slowly”, added in the cyclist.
Contador also indicated on his upcoming races post Tour de San Luis. Next to South America’s highest UCI event, the leading cyclist would be participating in Tour of Oman that has been scheduled for 11-16th February as well as Tirreno-Adriatico dated from March 6 to 12. He also mentioned about contesting in Crieterium International (on March 23-24) & his goal to win on Tour de France in 2013.
